J. J. Keller's Webb Shaw to moderate first-ever SLA roundtable discussion
SLA Rising Stars and SLA Fellows will share their collective insights
on hot topics at the 2010 Annual Conference & INFO-EXPO.
Neenah, WI - Webb Shaw, Director of Editorial Resources at J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc.® will moderate the first-ever SLA Rising Stars/SLA Fellows Roundtable, in which both experienced information professionals and newer practitioners will discuss hot topics in the industry, ranging from the attributes you need in today's tough job market to making the case for an info pro's ROI.
The roundtable, to be held June 14, 2010 at 10 a.m. CDT, is part of the SLA 2010 Annual Conference & INFO-EXPO (June 13-16) in New Orleans. The idea behind the roundtable is to elicit the views, one-on-one, of newer information professionals (Rising Stars) along with more experienced info pros (Fellows) to learn from their perspectives on five key issues.
"The recipients of this year's Rising Star Award and the 2010 Class of SLA Fellows comprise an extremely well-informed and innovative group. Their approaches to these topics will be of interest to every information professional," said Shaw.
The SLA Rising Star Award, sponsored by J. J. Keller, is given to SLA members who show exceptional promise of leadership and contribution to the association and the profession. Only information professionals who are in their first five years of SLA membership and have one to five years of experience are eligible to receive the award. Fellowship in SLA is bestowed on no more than five mid-career professionals annually in recognition of past, present and future service to the association and the profession. The 2010 Rising Stars and 2010 SLA Fellows will receive their awards during the Opening General Session on Sunday, June 13.
