FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CARE Affiliates to Integrate WebFeat Translators with MasterKey Federated Search Offering

New partnership enables CARE Affiliates to enhance open source federated search solution

Old Brookville, NY, August 17 , 2007— CARE Affiliates, Inc. today announced a partnership with WebFeat, enabling CARE to offer WebFeat translators, as well as other technology, in conjunction with the open source solutions that CARE provides. The initial offering will be to use WebFeat translators in conjunction with MasterKey, a federated search solution, so that it can simultaneously search databases that require proprietary search interfaces.

"CARE Affiliates is pleased to create a partnership with WebFeat, a world leader in federated search technologies, that will allow us to provide our customers with a very cost effective solution to meet their federated search needs," said Carl Grant, President of CARE Affiliates. "WebFeat understood our needs and moved quickly to address them. We believe that responsiveness is a good indicator of the kind of partnership we’re creating."

Todd Miller, President of WebFeat commented, "We are very pleased to welcome CARE Affiliates into our growing family of WebFeat partners. WebFeat now powers most federated search offerings currently available on the market. The combination of WebFeat and CARE’s solutions is a tremendous offering for libraries and information centers."

The Masterkey federated search will submit queries into the WebFeat API, which responds with parsed XML citations from its translator library, supporting over 9,000 databases. WebFeat’s translators structure and parse citations from all databases, adding value to the over 80% of databases that do not offer APIs or standards-based offerings. WebFeat’s translator library is currently the world’s largest.
