DIALOG NOW OFFERING FREE COST RECOVERY SERVICE
Dialog Billback(tm) Helps Subscribers Evaluate ROI, Improve Profitability
CARY, N.C., USA (March 17, 2004) - Dialog, a Thomson (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) business and a leading worldwide provider of online-based information services and integrated information solutions, said today that it is now offering Dialog BillBack - a free, Web-based cost-recovery service that tracks online research charges and generates usage reports for client invoicing or internal budgeting - through its Dialog Profound(r) and Dialog(r) NewsRoom services.
Dialog BillBack will be available for Dialog Intelliscope(sm), Dialog Company Profiles and Dialog NewsEdge(r) later this year when new versions of these services are introduced.
Dialog earlier this month launched an upgraded technology platform and a new interface for its business information, news and market research services, on which new versions of Dialog Profound and Dialog NewsRoom are now operating.
"The information explosion has brought a tremendous wealth of business-oriented research into the online environment," said Cynthia Murphy, Dialog senior vice president, strategic marketing. "But it can be a challenge for some businesses to best manage their research costs, including billing them back to clients or allocating them to departmental budgets.
Dialog BillBack solves those problems."
Murphy added that Dialog BillBack enables Dialog subscribers to track research costs by client, account group, subaccounts, project, user, date range or by a number of other criteria. Highly customized reports can be generated, automatically on a scheduled basis or as needed, for use in invoicing or departmental budgeting. Options are available for how the reports are formatted and delivered, with reports downloadable into spreadsheets, accounting systems and databases. Taxes, if applicable, can be calculated and added automatically, with customization available for different currencies and tax systems. Companies can determine who on their staffs have access to manage and review Dialog BillBack reports.
