New York, NY
Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC, TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the worldwide financial community, today announced that J.P. Morgan Securities is the latest company to provide aftermarket research to Thomson Financial's Investext database.
Thomson Financial's embargoed broker research collection is the world's most comprehensive collection of aftermarket original-format research reports written by expert analysts at nearly 900 of the world's top investment banks, brokerage houses, and research firms. On average, 2,000 new reports are added to the collection each day from brokers and research firms around the globe.
With a history of data collection that dates back to 1982, Thomson Financial provides clients with access to over 5 million reports, with coverage on over 47,000 companies and 54 industries. Covering markets in over 100 countries around the world, Investext offers many types of research, ranging from Morning Meeting Notes to Market Research Reports. Thomson Financial currently has active coverage from more than 500 contributors worldwide.
"With more than 20 years of experience in this space, Thomson Financial is the most widely read and respected source of institutional research available today," said Sarah Dunn, chief content officer, Thomson Financial. "We're thrilled to add J.P. Morgan Securities to our list of contributors and provide our clients with access to the premier equity research they publish."
Thomson Financial adds value to the original research documents through the following:
*Tables of Contents (TOCs) help clients make page-level purchase decisions.
*Indexing helps customers get access to information faster and more efficiently. All research is indexed through a series of automated and manual processes.
*Original Image Format brings most documents to customers so that all charts, graphs and tables are as prepared by the analyst. Thomson Financial also offers some XML-formatted content (with companion JPEG files for graphs), which is derived from XML-zoned research reports.
Thomson Financial's aftermarket and other non-real-time research can be accessed through a number of Thomson Financial products as well as 14 third-party distributors, including Lexis-Nexis, Gale Group and Alacra.
