Reuters has launched the second of what it describes as a series of sites that will be to provide niche communities easy access to relevant information. This small business site http://digbig.com/4yttf includes breaking news, articles, relevant to small business, a small business blog, and access to the Findlaw small business resource centre covering such items as setting up a business, business planning, licensing etc. This section of the site is very thin, compared with, for example Business Link in the UK, http://digbig.com/4yttg and the whole site appears to deal only with American information, so is of limited use in the UK. However for those of us in Europe who are monitoring small US companies, which are private and therefore have little public domain information, this could prove very useful.
Reuters launched an earlier niche site in April 2009 which covers green business issues and follows much the same pattern http://digbig.com/4ytth .
For small businesses these niche sites could prove invaluable as there searching time is very limited, and experience at Business Link showed that entrepreneurs want to go directly to relevant information.
